grateful big "thank you" to Mme. Margaux De Pauw, Art Fairs and Events Coordinator at MARUANI MERCIER, for guiding us through the exhibition!
arty-farty.fun's opinion: great location. one of the art galleries keeping Brussels on the map
21 January - 20 March 2021
@ Avenue Louise 430 in Brussels
consists of 3 parts: a tribute to Marcel Zerbib: “Objets de mon affection” / Man Ray : Surrealistic Objects / Marcel Mariën : Introduction to Belgian Surrealism
an Idea of Surrealism. officially acknowledged for the first time in Paris in 1924 with the publication of the Manifesto of Surrealism entitled Le Manifeste du Surréalisme by the poet, critic, and founder of the movement André Breton (1896-1966), Surrealism originated as a literary and artistic movement in the late 1910s and early 1920s.surrealism, influenced by the political ideas of Karl Marx, rapidly became an international intellectual and political movement. artists like Man Ray and Marcel Mariën through their inventiveness, audacity, imagination and questioning of art, characterize the very idea of Surrealism around the world.
arty-farty.fun's opinion: a world class museal exhibition. not set up as a confrontation between Man Ray and Marcel Mariën, but rather as a helpline to discover the Belgian surrealist.
strolling between the Avenue Louise and the étangs d'Ixelless ending at Frit Flagey
arty-farty.fun's opinion: the queue was far too long (a good sign of quality :-), so we don't know if they were crispy & tasty & served with a smile. strolling through Brussels, you will discover the multicultural aspect of the city. an exotic nest. Alexander parakeets conquer Brussels and continue to swarm.
